Pigsty Ceremonial

Under the watchful eye of Pa Meyers, construction is measured by how much shine is consumed while superintending the jobs. So... you might find a broad spectrum of "rightness  in the quality and quantity" of the work from the start of the day's labors to the end of the day!

That being said, finally the pigsty is completely framed, skinned and painted; water added to the water trough; slop poured into the feeding trough; mud and straw placed in all the right places; and a gate added and tightly secured with a strip of bailing wire.

The Meyers are now joyously taking some timeout from "work" to celebrate the event. The Joy-Juice is plentiful and flowing free! Gramma and Darla are frying-up a huge passel of blackened catfish, while Lester is keeping busy tilting-the-bottle and, on occasion, turning the ears of corn burning on the BBQ grill. Ah...all is as it should be on the Meyers' plot.

    1. Good day to you, General. I am glad to see that you are a man who knows his pig pens. I'd follow you into battle anywhere, Sir. Hail Franonia!

    2. I wouldn't, he's known as the bush hugger over here!!! Great work Jay, I love the ramshakle roof, a top job!

    3. You will be reported to the Franonian Security Division ASAP. Now... what was that telephone number?

Thanks, Ray. The Meyers are jack-of-all-trades, and a master of none...accept for moonshine distillation marketing, and distribution.

  2. This turned out great Jay and the aerial view really shows this piece off. I think I may be related to the Meyers family as our parties are strikingly similar!

    1. Hi, Anne: Thanks. I had more pictures which showed the side and rear view, but couldn't get them to show up in the right place on my blogger page. Hopefully, there will be some action taking place at the sty during the game and I can show off the rest of this Hog Hilton...and give it its due. I hear there is a new resident who has recently moved into a farm nearby. Could be she'll show up at a Meyers' sip, slurp, and burp party wearing golden yellow long hair. Fanny Mae is her name, well, that's what Bubba told me anyhow.

    1. Hi, Phil. Amen! I hope the Aliens get a little taste of Meyers' hospitality when they stop by the old porker homestead for a little scientific business exploration.

  4. What a fine looking establishment for the piggies to enjoy their swill, roll in the mud and fatten up before they get turned into BACON!!! (Shuush! I shouldn't have said that too loud, the piggies might hear!)

    1. Hi, KP: Now you've gone and done it! I wouldn't want to be the next fella who has to slop the hogs! I hear that their bite is worse than their squeal!

    1. Thanks, Sam. Yes, these pigs are styling! Willie-the-One-leg told me that he heard one of the hogs say, "Shucks, Urra, it won't be long and the new-smell of this sty will be gone and we'll be as happy as two pigs in pen have ever been." Sounds like true love to me.

    1. Hi LJ: I see you're still tightly grasping that beer can. Thanks! I hope that the scatchbuilds will hold up to the rigors of being in the middle of a war zone. At least I built them with durability in mind.

    1. Hi, Jacker: Thanks! The Meyers' pigs really have no idea how well they have it...at the present time! After a game or two, I predict there will be an Alien proverb which goes something like this..."If it is smelly, muddy, and snorts and squeals, BEWARE!"
